Azure Infrastructure for Canadian Businesses

Configure and support Azure virtual machines, storage, networking and access for your business applications.

Your workplace

Why this matters.

Hosting a business application in Azure changes the infrastructure beneath it, but staff still need dependable access to the same records and workflows. A cloud server relies on suitable storage, network connections, identity services and administrative access. Applications used across offices can also depend on local printers, internet services or other systems that remain at your premises.

Thinking through those connections before deployment helps your business choose resources that match the workload and understand the ongoing costs and operating tasks. Netsmart plans Azure infrastructure with the application provider and your team, linking setup to maintenance and recovery. Clear configuration records make it easier to support the environment, investigate problems and assess changes as your business grows.

The IT work

What Netsmart can help with.

  1. Review application needs

We confirm the application provider’s supported server, operating-system, storage and connectivity requirements, then identify the users and other systems that need access. We review expected resource use, data growth, licensing and dependencies such as identity services or connections between offices. Your business’s working hours and recovery priorities help shape the proposed Azure design. We document the required resources, access paths and supplier responsibilities so subscription choices and implementation costs can be reviewed before the environment is built or changed.

  2. Configure the environment

We set up the agreed Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage and network connections required by the supported application design. Administrative roles and user access are configured around approved responsibilities, with diagnostic information and cost visibility included for the selected services. We coordinate installation or connection work with your application provider and check access from the relevant office locations. Configuration records show how the components connect, what was installed and which supplier or team maintains each part of the working environment.

  3. Plan operation and recovery

We document routine management tasks for the selected Azure services, including account changes, server maintenance, resource reviews and the handling of technical alerts. Backup and restoration arrangements are considered alongside networking, identity and application dependencies so the recovery plan reflects the complete workload. We coordinate representative operating checks with your users and provider, then record results and follow-up work. Handover gives the support team configuration information, access responsibilities and recovery contacts needed to maintain the environment and plan future changes.

Azure infrastructure design connects the application with its network, storage, access and operating responsibilities. We review which resources the workload needs and how staff or other systems will reach them. Configuration can include defined administrative roles, diagnostic information and cost visibility for the selected services. Operating documentation identifies maintenance tasks and recovery dependencies, so a hosted server is treated as part of a working business environment rather than an isolated resource.

A practical example

How this works in practice.

For example, a vendor-supported application needs a hosted server accessible from two offices. We would confirm the workload requirements, plan supported connections and permissions, and check application access alongside the selected backup and operating arrangements before handover.

Checks and handover

What the work can include.

  • Resource and connectivity design
  • Administrative access and operating record
  • Application and recovery-dependency checks

Planning the work

What we’ll confirm before work starts.

Your business approves subscriptions and costs. Azure products, licensing and regional options vary; availability and recovery requirements are agreed for the chosen configuration.
